Space for something different

More room for what
makes you feel like you.

Space to rest, reconnect, and explore a pace that leaves room for your needs—not only what’s asked of you.

  • A Black woman resting comfortably on a linen sofa in soft afternoon light
    Room to simply be.
  • An East Asian man pausing beside a lake on a quiet woodland walk
A pace that feels like yours.
  • A South Asian woman tending potted herbs on a sunny balcony
Small things to look forward to.

Understanding stress & burnout

When keeping going
starts to cost too much.

You may still be getting through the day. But it can feel as though there is less of you left at the end of it.

Perhaps you feel stretched thin, find it difficult to switch off, or have less energy for the people and activities that matter to you. Work, caregiving, relationships, and everyday responsibilities can leave little room to notice what you need.

Burnout specifically relates to ongoing workplace stress. It can involve exhaustion, feeling increasingly detached or negative about work, and a reduced sense of effectiveness. You might recognize some of these experiences, or simply know that your current pace is taking a toll.

You do not need to have the right label or wait until everything feels unmanageable to ask for support.

Stress & burnout FAQ

A little more clarity
before you begin.

A few answers to help you consider the next step, at your own pace.

Do I need to be burnt out to seek support?

No. You can reach out when you feel stretched thin, find it difficult to switch off, or want space to understand what is weighing on you. You do not need a diagnosis or a clear explanation before beginning.

What if I cannot change my workload or responsibilities?

We can start with the circumstances you are actually living in. Together, we can explore where you have some choice, what support may be available, and which boundaries or ways of coping feel realistic. You do not have to arrive with a plan to change everything.

What happens in the first session?

Your first session is a chance to talk about what brings you in, the demands you are carrying, and what you hope might feel different. You can ask questions and share at a pace that feels comfortable. You and your therapist can then begin deciding what to focus on together.

Can I access this support virtually?

Yes. Stoneglass offers virtual therapy across Ontario. A private space and a reliable internet connection can help you take part comfortably. During your consultation, you can discuss any questions about technology, privacy, or whether virtual sessions are a good fit for you.

How do I know which therapist is right for me?

The free 15–20 minute phone consultation gives you space to share what you are looking for, ask about your therapist’s approach, and explore the fit. You can also ask about availability, fees, and session length before deciding on the next step.
